Contract Description:
The Oregon Department of Fish  and Wildlife (ODFW) will operate the incubation, early rearing and raceway ponds at Oak Springs Fish Hatchery that are designed for the production of Hood River summer and winter steelhead. The hatchery manager will be resonsible for all phases of the steelhead rearing program, including: isolation incubation and early rearing, disease prevention and treatment, fin marking, anf transfer of 50,000 winter steelhead smaolts and 40,000 summer steelhead smolts to Hood River acclimation facilities, this hatchery production will require close coordination with other Hood River Production Project personnel, from both ODFW and Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Indians (CTWSI). Coordinatrion will include correct external marking, achieving smolt size objective at the pre-determined time of release, and delivery of fish to acclimation facilities. The ODFW Watershed Coordinator will supervise the hatchery manager.

Project Distribution: Items for Fish Distribution and Fish Pathology itemized separately to indicate specific budget expenses in these as are related to the Hood River project, and allow for tracking of expenditures.
Chemicals - Includes all chemical used in the culture of Hood river fish. Includes those not used in feed and those used in feed.
Utilities - Based on historical power usage for egg incubation and the Hood programs percentage of hatchery production.
Program Supplies - Misc. items needed for maintaining effective operation. Based on historical spending, and includes items for improvement of operations.
Treatment Building/Yearly Maintenance- The treatment building requires that all the bulbs in the ultra violet system be replaced yearly. The amount budgeted covers the cost of bulbs and the service call
