Contract Description:
This contract is for USGS Columbia River Research Laboratory to operate a PIT tag interrogation system (PTIS) at the mouth of the Hood River.  Operation will include insuring that the system power supply, transceiver, and data logging are operating as planned and that the data are in a format suitable for uploading to the PTAGIS database.  Operation will also include training of personnel from HRPP in system maintenance and data downloading.  As data are acquired, USGS will produce path efficiency estimates for the PTIS following protocols outlined in Connolly et al. (2008) and site efficiency estimates, but the ability to estimate site efficiency  is dependent on PIT tag recapture or detection data for adult salmonids in the Hood River by HRPP.  A report on FY2011 activities will be produced.
