Contract Description:
Contract includes the construction of a water control structure for the Barnes Road Diversion facility and adjustments to KJ and MWDA facilities to provide for operations as intended.  Shakedown experiences since construction have shown the need to provide these adjustments so the facilities operate in real-world conditions as was intended when first designed.  For Barnes, the proposed structure will be incorporated in to the existing diversion structure to manage instream water surface elevations. This enhancement will improve personnel safety, functionality of the existing screens, and compliance with WDFW screen submergence criteria.  The improvements to MWDA and KJ involve upgrading power to 3 phase and changing out compressors for more rapid air cycling, increasing wall height at KJ for flood protection, improving water intake situation at the MWDA headgate, generally improving sweeping flow and silt management conditions at MWDA and KJ, and other operational enhancements.  All of this work will be implemented by issuing a firm fixed price construction contract to the winning bidder. Construction will be managed under contract 54966, as will all other A&E services related to these 3  project components.  All other final Manastash passage work will be completed under contract 54966 and in conjunction with KCCD under CR226270.
