Contract Description:
The Coeur d'Alene Tribe intends to reestablish a native redband trout fishery in the Hangman Watershed by addressing both the landscape level and instream habitat issues that restrict the redband populations on the Coeur d'Alene Reservation to the higher elevation tributaries of the Watershed.  This Scope of Work describes the FY2013 activities associated with the Coeur d'Alene Tribe's Hangman Wildlife Project, which is the Resident Fish project that is designed to address the landscape level issues that result in decreased base flows and thus restrict redband populations.  The Work Elements have been grouped under general categories that correspond to Planning and Coordination, Construction and Implementation, Research and Monitoring, and Project Administration.

Major initiatives during FY2013 include exchanging uplands within the BPA conservation easements for floodplain acreages that will more readily support instream habitats, minimizing noxious weeds, continuing the establishment of native vegetation, activating the newly constructed Sheep Creak realignment for the summer months, and partnering with other agencies and initiatives to broaden the effect of restoration efforts in Hangman.  The total work element budget being submitted with this Scope of Work is $290,000.
