Contract Description:
The main goal of this project is to protect high quality and unique aquatic habitats, and to increase open water habitats through spread prevention and control of Uruguayan primrose-willow (Ludwigia hexapetala). This will be accomplished through application of integrated techniques to reduce the amount of Ludwigia in the river system between Corvallis and Albany. Treatment techniques have been extensively researched for Ludwigia by Benton Soil and Water Conservation District (BSWCD) staff. BSWCD will sub-contract to manage Ludwigia populations. Herbicide will be applied to large populations of Ludwigia and hand pulling will be employed to remove small patches.

Other components of this project include contract management, grant administration, and monitoring of project areas.
