Contract Summary

The objective of this contract is to complete project-level habitat monitoring and evaluation activities in support of, and in collaboration with, a Programmatic Approach for Action Effectiveness Monitoring (AEM) developed by the Northwest
Fisheries Science Center and the Bonneville Power Administration. Specifically, a multiple before-after control-impact (MBACI) experimental design will be utilized to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of four habitat restoration actions proposed for implementation in North-Central Idaho and Northeast Oregon. Collaboration and support will be provided to the FY18 AEM coordinating entity (TBA) to analyze and interpret the data, as well as for the completion of associated reports for the Programmatic AEM MBACI activities.

FY 2018 Implementation Summary

The habitat restoration actions currently identified for 2018 monitoring and evaluation under this contract include:

• Lostine River Watershed - Tulley Hill Diversion partial barrier project
• East Fork of South Fork Salmon River - Cox Creek Culvert partial barrier project
• Newsome Creek Watershed - Newsome Creek Reach 2 floodplain restoration project
• Lapwai Creek Watershed - Sweetwater Creek levee setback and channel reconstruction project (contingent upon meeting final survey screening criteria)
