The goal of this project is to operate and maintain Ford Hatchery to enhance the recreational and subsistence Kokanee fisheries in Lake Roosevelt and Banks Lake.  The Ford Hatchery will augment production at Sherman Creek and Spokane Tribal Kokanee/rainbow trout hatcheries by producing 11,666 lb. (700,000) Kokanee for Banks Lake. In conjunction with these two facilities, Ford's hatchery production will contribute to a combined goal of 1.0 million Kokanee yearlings for Lake Roosevelt and 1.0-million Kokanee fingerlings/fry for Banks Lake. Current objectives include the increased use of native/indigenous stocks where available for propagation in the Lake Roosevelt subbasin.  Also, Ford Hatchery will continue to produce resident trout (80,584 lb.) to promote the sport fisheries in put-and-take trout fishing lakes in eastern Washington (WDFW Management Region 1). Monitoring and evaluation of the Ford stocking programs will involve utilizing existing WDFW creel and lake survey programs to assess resident trout plantings in trout managed waters and will include a BPA funded creel survey to assess Kokanee plantings in Banks Lake.
