Contract Description:
Phase 2 activities include removing the existing diversion dam, about 5 to 10 ecology blocks placed at the headworks, and the entire existing fish ladder; renovating or replacing the headgate and trashrack and raising the existing headwall; constructing a channel-spanning roughened channel with a grouted crest and a grouted low-flow v-notch channel; installing a 100-foot long 42-inch diameter HDPE pipe to directly connect the renovated headworks and the Phase 1 pipe inlet; placing east bank protection embankment; and place west bank erosion protection along the upper edge of the roughened channel.

Project activities / improvements include:
Site work grading, excavation, and backfill
Divert and care for the river, including installing and removing cofferdams
Continual dewatering of the construction work area
Remove and salvage about 5 to 10 existing ecology blocks located at the headworks structure
Remove entire existing concrete fish ladder structure and attached concrete walls
Renovate or replace existing Fulton Ditch headgate and trashrack, and raise the existing concrete headwall
Construct a channel-spanning roughened channel control structure with a grouted crest and grouted low-flow v-notch channel
Place riprap along each river bank
Furnish and install approximately 100 feet of 42-inch HDPE pipe to directly connect the renovated headworks structure to the phase 1 pipe inlet
Install bank protection on river east side

Project construction is currently scheduled to begin in the fall of 2006.
