Title: Wind River Watershed Project:

Objectives, Tasks, and Methods
  
  OBJ-1.  Produce a 2006-2007 Annual Report based on work performed 1 April 2006 through 31 March 2007.

  OBJ-2.  Continue to prepare a Technical Report.

               This report will substitute for a 2005-06 Annual Report.  It will have two chapters:
               1) “Bioenergetics modeling to assess the energetic cost of Hemlock Dam on the growth potential of juvenile steelhead.” by Sauter and Connolly .

               2) “Ecological Interactions between Hatchery Chinook and Wild Steelhead in the Wind River” by Jezorek and Connolly.

  OBJ-3.  Assist WDFW with running smolt traps and processing captured fish in April-May 2007.

  OBJ 4.  Build and install a multiplexing PIT-tag Interrogation System in Trout Creek above Hemlock Lake and near the current smolt trap site.

  

Unfunded objectives (some of which may be funded in out years):

  OBJ 5.  Build and install a multiplexing PIT-tag Interrogation System in upper Wind River near the current smolt trap site.

  OBJ 6.  Maintain PIT-tag Interrogation System(s).

  OBJ 7.  Collaborate with WDFW to analyze previously collected steelhead adult, smolt, and parr data.
a) Provide technical assistance to WDFW for analyses.
b) Conduct analyses for trend of populations, life history strategies expressed, and survival.

  OBJ-8.  Assist USFS and UCD in habitat restoration efforts.
a) Provide relevant data and data summaries to help USFS and UCD plan new work in 2007-2009
                b) Provide technical assistance to USFS and UCD for implementation of new work in 2007-2009.
