Contract Description:
We propose to document the effects of a very low intensity electric barrier on the rate of movement and migratory behavior of adult salmonids (Oncorhynchus spp.) and Pacific lamprey (Lampetra tridentata).  The results of this study can be considered when making management decisions about whether to install electrical barriers in the lower Columbia River to minimize predation on upstream migrating salmonids by marine pinnipeds.  

Objective 1.  Assess the effects of a low intensity electrical barrier on the rate of movement and behavior of adult salmonids.  

Objective 2.  Assess the effects of a low intensity electrical barrier on the rate of movement and behavior of adult Pacific lampreys.
