Contract Description:
Under this proposal, we will work with livestock producers in Okanogan County to reduce problems associated with livestock access to water and other conflicts with riparian and fish needs throughout the county. The project will involve public outreach to inform local landowners of the opportunity and site visits to assist in the ranking process. Implementation of fencing, riparian plantings, hardened access points, wells, pumps, pipelines and trough installation on selected areas would benefit not only salmon and steelhead but all fish species through the protection and rehabilitation of riparian habitats. This work could be done by the selected landowners or by contractors.
