Contract Description:
This contract is for USGS Columbia River Research Laboratory to operate a PIT tag interrogation system (PTIS) at the mouth of the Hood River.  The construction and installation of the PTIS will occur under contract 48684.  Operation will include insuring that the system power supply, transceiver, and data logging are operating as planned and that the data are in a format suitable for uploading to the PTAGIS database.  Operation will also include training of personnel from ODFW and CTWS in system checking and data downloading.  As data are acquired, USGS will produce efficiency estimates for the PTIS following protocols outlined in Connolly et al. (2008).  Additionally, USGS will construct several small PIT tag antennas to be placed in the outflow of the  East Fork Hood River acclimation site to monitor smolt releases.  Efficiency estimates will also be produced for the acclimation site antennas.
