Contract Description:
Project funds furnished by BPA and issued to CTUIR for the purpose of restoring and protecting fisheries habitat in the Tucannon Watershed.  The scope of the work to be performed under this project has been previously reviewed by the ISRP for Columbia Conservation District's project 1994-018-06.

Some of the proposed funding for FY11 has been rolled-in from unspent dollars that remained from 2009-201-00. Work activities to be implemented under that project have been ISRP reviewed throughout the Ceded Areas of the CTUIR Tribe within various CTUIR habitat projects.  Project 2008-201-00 was deemed not to need additional review as it will be building on other projects that have been reviewed, including 1987-100-01 Umatilla Fish Habitat, 1996-046-01 Walla Walla Basin Fish Habitat Enhancement, 1996-083-00 Grande Ronde Watershed Restoration, and 2000-031-00 Enhance Habitat on the North Fork John Day River.

In FY 2011, CTUIR will expand its coordination beyond WDFW and build partnerships with private landowners, the USFS, SRSRB, TSS, CCD, PCD, etc. In addition to increased networking with cooperating entities, CTUIR will establish itself as being able to function autonomously as needed, while retaining a cooperative, professional  image. In FY 09 and 10, CTUIR concentrated on state lands. In FY 11, CTUIR shall focus on working at private properties of Pataha Creek because CTUIR successfully secured a $455,000 competitive SRSRB grant to perform work on Pataha Creek at two primary passage sites identified by SRSB teams. The grant dollars are affixed with a time limit of use. Therefore, Pataha Creek will be the focus of most restoration work in FY 11. CTUIR then plans to seek a return to working on state lands in FY 12 as a LWD project was approved and dollars awarded with CTUIR as the sponsor.
