Contract Description:
The Yakama Reservation Watershed Project has completed numerous restoration actions since 1997 in the Satus, Toppenish, and Ahtanum Watersheds-- all tributaries of the Yakima River.  These actions targeted ESA listed Middle Columbia Steelhead as well as other anadromous and resident fish species.  Under this contract, we intend to implement and design several projects to further restore these  fish populations.
The Pom Pom Road Project (design and implementation)  will remove sections of road and restore a section of Toppenish Creek where the channel was artificially straightened.  The Simcoe Creek West White Swan Road project (design) will replace an undersized box culvert.  The wet meadow beaver analog project (implementation) will restore incised channels in Toppenish and Satus headwater meadows.

We will also continue assisting with instream minimum flow implementation, fencing, and monitoring for adaptive management purposes.
