Contract Description:
For the period May 15, 2015- May 14, 2016, CRITFC staff and consultants will continue to collaborate with the tribes, federal agencies and universities in the development of sophisticated Columbia River Basin river operations modeling tools using the CRITFC Information System (CIS) and the integration of the most recent climate science into these tools. Activities will include continued participation and technical contributions to the 15 Columbia River Tribal group regarding modernization of the Columbia River Treaty, the Willamette Basin 2100 Water Scarcity Project and various conferences and workshops regarding climate change and adaptation planning, including tribal focused efforts.

The main tasks will include the following:

1) Continue to develop and implement CRITFC Climate Project climate change analytical framework through collaboration and partnerships with technical staff from BPA, the Corps, NPCC and BOR among others will be required.

2) Continue to Develop Qualitative and Quantitative Tools as necessary to create Decision Framework Products/Deliverables.

3) Enhance the CRITFC CIS model for climate change modeling and seek peer-review of the model.

4) Continue to coordinate regional climate change modeling efforts with CRITFC’s member tribes, the NOAA Science Center, Climate Impacts Group (CIG) and other regional stakeholders to assess gaps in data collection and methodologies.

5) Continue to monitor and update assessment of regional needs and opportunities for collaborative research and analyses in climate change.

6) Continue to produce reports specific to the tribal ceded areas and resources of each of CRITFC's  tribes for help in climate change adaptation planning  and disseminate information on CRITFC website.

7) Gather relevant information about Lamprey and Eulachon distribution and abundance, associated historic climatic and water quality data, and future climate projections data, and store data in appropriate internal database formats for analysis.

8) Develop hypothesized relationships between environmental conditions and Pacific Lamprey and Pacific Eulachon survival and abundance.

9) Produce coupled ocean-freshwater models to forecast impacts to Pacific Lamprey and Pacific Eulachon populations under future climate change scenarios.
