The Entiat large wood procurement project will secure and stage large wood for middle Entiat habitat restoration projects.  The middle Entiat habitat restoration projects were selected for BPA funding through the targeted solicitation process as part of the Upper Columbia Habitat Project.  This project is part of the Intensively Monitored Watershed and restoration construction is scheduled for this area in 2016-2017.  This contract will fund Chelan County Natural Resources Department (CCNRD) staff to procure and deliver large wood, prepare staging areas, and coordinate these efforts with landowners and stakeholders.  Project partners include Bonneville Power Administration as funder, Cascadia Conservation District, Cascade Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group, and Yakima Nation (other project sponsors), and US Bureau of Reclamation who is providing engineering design support for this project.  Additional project stakeholders include the Entiat Habitat Subcommittee, Regional Technical Team, utilities, and landowners. As part of this contract, CCNRD will secure local authorizations for large wood staging including any driveway access permits, ensure that work is covered under the BPA Section 106 cultural resources review, obtain landowner leases, and implement site access improvements including weed control in preparation for staging.
