Contract Description:
The primary goal of the Salmon River Habitat Enhancement (SRHE) Project is to restore, enhance, and monitor habitat and anadromous fish in the Yankee Fork Salmon River (YFSR). The SRHE Program will perform status and trend and action effectiveness monitoring within the YFSR using Columbia Habitat Monitoring Protocol and assist with habitat restoration actions within the YFSR. SRHE will monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of habitat restoration actions.  The SRHE Program will implement the Columbia Habitat Monitoring Program (CHaMP) Protocol to monitor the status and trend and action effectiveness within the Yankee Fork Salmon River and associated projects. This effort will include status and trend monitoring for the Yankee Fork as a whole system and also action effectiveness monitoring for project specific actions in the YFSR. Based on the findings of the monitoring program, adaptive management will be easier to implement and plan and will be more effective.
