Contract Description:
The USFS will use contract funds to install the second phase of a two phase project to increase habitat complexity within a 0.7 mile reach of the West Fork Hood River; from the confluence with Red Hill Creek downstream ~0.7 miles to a narrow canyon area.  Phase 2 will continue progress made in phase 1 (430 logs and 42 tipped trees added instream) and will be implemented within the lower 0.4 miles of the overall 0.7 mile project reach. In Phase 2, twenty log jams (20-40 logs each, 460 logs total) and 60 tipped whole trees will be added to the stream channel, side channels, and associated floodplain of the project reach.  

The USFS  will purchase live trees to tip into the stream and hire subcontractors deliver logs to the project site and install the project, EC has been completed. The HRPP will report project results in annual progress report for contract 73854

The project ill be implemented between July 15, 2017 through October 30, 2017. Reporting will be completed December 2017.
