The scope of work and budget presented in this contract describe activities associated with the Coeur d'Alene Tribe's resident fish enhancement project for the Coeur d'Alene Subbasin. The work elements for this contract are related to planning/assessments, non-native fish suppression, research and monitoring, and project administration. Non-native fish suppression efforts, for northern pike in Coeur d'Alene Lake, and eastern brook trout in several tributary streams, continue to be important strategies to support recovery of native trout fisheries, and many of the RME work elements in this contract have been developed to examine the response of adfluvial cutthroat trout to these suppression efforts to help inform adaptive management measures. Several new work elements were included in this contract that focused on developing a better understanding of factors that influence production of adfluvial native salmonids in Coeur d'Alene Lake.  These include assessments of northern pike habitat use and movement, assessments of secondary production in the lake on which pelagic cutthroat trout depend, the spatial distribution of watersheds across the the Coeur d'Alene Basin that contribute to adfluvial cutthroat trout production in the lake, and the development of monitoring methods to better describe trends in adfluvial bull trout populations.
