Contract Description:
The goals and objectives of the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fisheries Enforcement law enforcement department
(CRITFE) are to implement an expanded enforcement program to provide additional protection against illegal take of
Columbia River salmon species throughout their life cycle with an emphasis on weak stocks passing through the hydropower
corridor into tributary streams. CRITFE protection includes reduced illegal take of Columbia Basin fish & wildlife.
The conceptual scope of the CRITFE program is the entire life cycle of the target fish species, i.e., "gravel to gravel."
The geographical scope of Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fisheries Enforcement is primarily the Mainstem Columbia River
from 4 miles below Bonneville Dam to McNary Dam.
