The Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation of Oregon (CTWSRO) will operate a full term spring Chinook salmon rearing and steelhead spawning / acclimation facility near Parkdale, Oregon. The Parkdale Fish Hatchery (PFH) will implement the hatchery production for the Hood River Production Program (HRPP).  This will include the adult holding and spawning of winter steelhead and propagation/ release of spring Chinook salmon.  The hatchery manager will oversee all phases of the PFH, including operation and maintenance. coordination with CTWS BNR staff and other partner agencies.  50,000 winter steelhead will be acclimated and released into the Middle and East Forks Hood River.   150,000 spring Chinook salmon smolts will be acclimated and released into  West and Middle Forks Hood River.   Carson NFH will be contracted to raise  up to 50,000 spring Chinook eggs delivered from PFH for 2013 release and return 45,000 smolts from the 2011 brood.  Facility staff will operate a permanent spring Chinook salmon acclimation facility in the West Fork at Moving Falls. Winter steelhead smolts will be acclimated and released in the East and Middle Forks of the the Hood River. Work on Parkdale Fish Hatchery Phase II expansion will begin with the initiation of preliminary design work.
