Contract Description:
The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) propose ongoing fish habitat protection, restoration and enhancement, maintenance, and monitoring activities under the CTUIR Umatilla Anadromous Fish Habitat Project (198710001) to achieve the aquatic biological objectives and strategies and management plans established in the Umatilla Subbasin Plan (NPCC, 2004) and the Northwest Power and Conservation Council (NPCC) Fish and Wildlife Program (NPPC 2000).

The Umatilla Anadromous Fisheries Habitat Project (UAFHP) is an ongoing effort to protect, enhance, and restore functional floodplain, channel, and watershed processes to provide sustainable and healthy habitat for aquatic species in the Umatilla River Basin, including Threatened Mid-Columbia summer steelhead.  Project work further supports the CTUIR Department of Natural Resource ecological (River Vision 2008) and First Foods mission statements to sustain production.

The following is an agreement between BPA and CTUIR to provide funds for implementing habitat enhancement actions in the Umatilla River Basin.
