Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) will be contracting with SCHNABEL ENGINEERING, LLC for engineering services during construction of the Klickitat Hatchery Spring Chinook Upgrades Project for the Yakama Nation.

The project includes construction of new circular rearing units to bring spring Chinook production up to 800,000 yearlings, new adult holding raceways and spawning facilities, new spring water supply piping, and pollution abatement facilities in addition to a number of optional facility improvements to the site’s administration building and residences.

Following the completion of NEPA permitting, the project is expected to be bid in 2023 and begin construction later that year. The administration of the construction contract is expected to be led by a team of BPA staff with Schnabel providing supplemental services, with key deliverable of
finalizing record drawings that meet technical specifications and intent of design.

While Schnabel will not serve as construction managers, as this will be a BPA role, they will serve as technical consultants and support throughout construction as itemized and described in the SOW.

It is expected that construction will occur over an 18–24-month duration.
