Contract Description:
This contract provides funding for the Upper Columbia United Tribes (UCUT) to do the following:
1) Inform, coordinate the participation of, and facilitate consensus-based decision-making among the five member tribes of UCUT (Coeur d'Alene Tribe, Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, Kalispel Tribe of Indians, Kootenai Tribe of Idaho, and Spokane Tribe of Indians) in issues related to the Fish and Wildlife Program.
2) Participate as a UCUT Central Office staff in forums and meetings where issues related to the Fish and Wildlife Program are being discussed, and report back to the members for definition of and response to policy and sovereign-related issues. As subsequently directed by its member Tribes, the UCUT Central Office staff will communicate the five Tribes' consensus positions to regional decision-makers to work to arrive at consensus agreement, and continue efforts to align regional partnerships.
3) Develop agreements by which regional coordination will go forward and will take place within set budgets.
4) Provide technical and policy reviews.
