Project Summary

Project 2013-001-00 - Fish Data Products Technical Services
Project Number:
2013-001-00
Title:
Fish Data Products Technical Services
Summary:
The main function of the Fish Data Products technical services work plan is to compile, filter, extract, organize and format the information needed for Council and Bonneville reporting needs. These reporting needs include graphics for the Council’s reports to Congress, to Governors, HLI, dashboards, and Fish and Wildlife Program, and graphics for Bonneville’s biological opinion reports and reporting tools such as CBFish.org website, The accessibility of the information needed for reporting varies, depending on whether the data is currently accessible as raw field data (e.g., redd counts), or as calculated estimates (e.g., population abundance), in a computer readable format (e.g., StreamNet) that is easily accessed to produce graphics, or in a non-computer readable format (e.g., reports) that requires conversion to a computer readable format (e.g., excel spreadsheet) The actions done under this project will ensure that data and derived indicators for these reporting needs are in an accessible computer readable format, rather than in static documents, such as a PDF or Word. The technical services providers under this project will work with the appropriate Council staff to improve the flow of data between information sources and Council and BPA reports.
