Contract Description:
AUTHORIZATION:
The Northwest Power Planning Council (NPPC) authorized construction of Nez Perce Tribal Hatchery Complex (NPTHC) facilities 17, May 2000.  Construction began July 2001 and was essentially completed in October 2002.  The hatchery was dedicated 9, October 2002.  Spring and fall Chinook salmon eggs were brought on-station for incubation in October, and all systems appeared to be functioning.  
This statement of work and budget contain activities and costs associated with the operation and maintenance of the Nez Perce Tribal Hatchery and six satellite facilities.  Based on NPPC authorization for out-year operation and maintenance costs we are requesting the following:
FY2011 O&M budget:  $2,136,152
  
2011 OBJECTIVES:  
NPTHC plans to release 1.4M FCS and 825,000 SCS into the Clearwater Subbasin.  To meet these objectives, ~1064 adult FCS will be trapped at Lower Granite Dam and at the NPTH ladder.  Egg take goal for the FCS program is 1,610,000 green eggs.  ~458 adult SCS will be trapped at NPTH and from Weirs on Lolo and Newsome Creeks.  Adults for the SCS program may also come from other hatcheries in the Clearwater Subbasin.  Egg take goal for the SCS program is 656,250 green eggs.

To summarize, the following numbers and groups of fish will be reared and/or released in 2011 through the NPTHC program.  

* 500,000 BY10 fall Chinook subyearlings at NPTH - released into Clearwater River
* 200,000 BY10 fall Chinook subyearlings at Cedar Flats Acclimation Facility - released into Selway River
* 200,000 BY10 fall Chinook subyearlings at Lukes Gulch Acclimation Facility - released into South Fork Clearwater River
*               500,000 BY10 fall Chinook subyearlings at North Lapwai Valley Acclimation Facility - released into Lapwai Creek

* 200,000 BY09 spring Chinook smolts at NPTH - released into Clearwater River (Early reared at IDFG's Clearwater Hatchery).
*   75,000 BY10 spring Chinook pre-smolts at Newsome Acclimation Facility - released into Newsome Creek  
* 150,000 BY10 spring Chinook pre-smolts at Yoosa/Camp Acclimation Facility - released into Lolo Creek
*               400,000 BY10 spring Chinook parr direct steam released by helicopter into Meadow Creek
