Contract Description:
This contract reflects WDFW participation and work tasks associated with the co-managed Yakima Steelhead VSP
proposal (Yakama Nation as Lead entity; Project 201003000). The work elements in this contract were designed to
address VSP and CRSO BiOp Terms and Conditions and Yakima River Steelhead Recovery Plan.
Establishing robust estimates of steelhead VSP parameters is intended to direct future recovery actions and to provide
benchmark values against which progress towards steelhead recovery in the Yakima MPG can be evaluated.
Addressing VSP data will contribute to the long term recovery objectives presented in the Yakima Subbasin
plan and the Yakima Steelhead Recovery Plan. In summary, this project seeks to build on the existing programs
in all the subbasins and provide information and equipment needed for long term monitoring of VSP parameters with a
known level of accuracy and precision.
