The project involves designing upgrades to the existing acclimation infrastructure and obtaining permits at Prosser Hatchery located on the Yakima River in Washington State.  The existing facilities support acclimation and release of yearling and subyearling fall Chinook salmon that are transferred to Prosser Hatchery after early rearing is achieved elsewhere.  The replacement facilities would be consistent with the Northwest Power and Conservation Council’s (NPCC) Fish & Wildlife Program, and would be components of Prosser Hatchery upgrades described in the Yakama Nation’s Revised Master Plan for Yakima Sub-Basin Summer and Fall-run Chinook, Coho Salmon, and Steelhead submitted to the NPCC in October, 2019.  A narrative describing this project (2008-527-00, Zone 6 Fisheries Accord Project) was submitted to the NPCC on May 27, 2020.
